On 9th December, 2013, Mahindra Two Wheelers Ltd was awarded with international patents for its four indigenously developed technologies. These four technologies are the fuel gauge system, the automatic ignition cut-off, the distance to empty fuel system, and the engine immobilizer system. These technologies are incorporated in some recently launched models, and will also be a part of future models. The Centuro, launched in July 2013, comes with these technologies.

“With our in-house technologies getting international patents, we are reaffirming our commitment to offer best-in-class technology and innovative products to meet customers unmet needs. The incorporation of these technologies into our range of two-wheelers differentiate us from our competitors and is creating significant consumer demand,” said Mr. Viren Popli, Executive Vice President – Mahindra Two Wheelers.

According to Mr. P. S. Ashok – Senior Vice President and Head R&D, “At our state-of-the-art R&D facility in Pune, we continue to focus on technology driven innovation for our two-wheelers. The internationally patented technologies, developed in-house, are a testimony to this effort. We will continue to develop innovative technologies that appeal to the global two wheeler community at large.”
