On 29th January 2014, National Aluminium Company Limited (NALCO), a Navratna PSU of Ministry of Mines, Govt. of India,announced the results for the 3rd quarter ended December 2013. The registered net profit stood at Rs. 131 crore, up 10% from the Rs.119 crore registered during the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal. The net sales for Q3 2013 stood at Rs. 1621 crore.
In the 3rd quarter of 2013-14, the alumina hydrate production was 4.66 lakh tonnes, 17.4% up as compared to 3.97 lakh tonnes achieved in the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal. Metal production in the third quarter of this fiscal has gone down to 0.79 lakh tonnes, against 1.00 lakh tonnes achieved in the same quarter of the previous year. Power generation was at 1,249 MU in this quarter, as compared to 1,525 MU of the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal.
