The Country’s largest power generator – NTPC Ltd. having installed capacity of 47228 MW declared the financial results for the second quarter and half-year of financial year 2016-17.

For H1 FY2016-17, NTPC Ltd. generated 125.15 Billion Units against 118.86 Billion Units generated in the corresponding period of the previous year, an increase of over 5%, represented by 6.29 Billion Units. For the H1 FY2016-17, NTPC Coal stations achieved PLF of 77.98% as against National PLF of 59.04%.

In line with spurt in power generation, on half-year basis, the unaudited Total Income of Rs. 38,809.36 crore for H1 FY 2016-17 showed an increase of 9.16% against Rs. 35,552.07 crore reported for the previous corresponding period. For H1 FY 2016-17, unaudited Profit before Tax is Rs. 6,294.84 crore as compared to Rs. 4,157.35 crore declared in the corresponding period of previous year registering an increase of over 51%. The Profit after Tax for H1 FY 2016-17 is Rs. 4,834.58 crore.

The unaudited Total Income for the Q2 FY 2016-17 is Rs. 19,588.56 crore as against the unaudited Total Income of Rs. 18,218.16 crore in the Q2 FY 16-17, registering an increase of over 7%.

For Q2 FY 2016-17, unaudited Profit before Tax is Rs. 3,258.02 crore as compared to Rs. 2,312.68 crore declared in the corresponding period of previous year registering an increase of 41%. The Profit after Tax for Q2 FY 2016-17 is Rs. 2,495.97 crore.

The unaudited Profit after Tax for the Q2 FY 2016-17 has increased by about 7% as compared to previous quarter i.e. Q1 FY 2016-17. In absolute term the Profit after Tax has increased from Rs. 2,338.61 crore to Rs. 2,495.97 crore.
